Chelsea to offer Ashley Cole new contract

10 December 2013 - 15:07

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the Blues will offer left back Ashley Cole a new contract at Stamford Bridge. There had been some suggestion that the England international would quit for pastures new having slipped out of the first team reckoning.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The defender has reportedly told his aides that he will consider a move abroad at the end of the season, but there is still a possibility that his club will give him a brand new deal.

Jose Mourinho told reporters: "Naturally he will get his contract because he’s a valuable player for us. Even if you are not playing every game and you are not a first-choice player, like he was always, I don’t think sometimes it means that you are not well, you are not in well conditions, you are not deserving a new contract."
