Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on landing the signature of out-of-favour Inter Milan defender Alvaro Pereira during the winter transfer window.
The Uruguay international, who has just started twice for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A this season, is understood to be closing in a January exit from the San Siro,as he aims to strengthen his chances of featuring for his national side in the World Cup finals in Brazil next year.
Spurs boss Andre-Villas Boas, who managed the player during his managerial reign with Primeira Liga giants Porto, is tipped to sign the talented left-back, having been forced to play Jan Vertonghen out of position all season, due to an injury to first-choice Danny Rose.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently placed in 6th in the Premier League table.
