Swansea make bid for Micah Richards

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has made an ambitious attempt to sign Man City defender Micah Richards on loan. The full back is currently out injured but appears to be ready to leave City in search of first team football.

The full back is currently out injured but appears to be ready to leave City in search of first team football.Micah Richards has remained fiercely loyal to his current club but has told his agent that he needs to be playing regularly to boost his chances of a place in England's World Cup squad. Swansea have a limited budget in the upcoming transfer window but are looking to sign a full back to challenge Chico Flores for a place in the first team.City could be prepared to reject a deal though as they await news of how bad the injury sustained to Pablo Zabaleta in yesterday's game against Ipswich Town was.
