Liverpool eye move for Benfica starlet

07 January 2014 - 12:15

Liverpool are set to battle it out with Swansea City for the services of Benfica winger Ola John on loan in the winter transfer window.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on adding a few recruits in January, as he aims to strengthen the club's attack-front, and has been linked with the likes of Cristian Tello and Mohamed Salah in recent weeks.

Ola John is considered as a top target for the Reds, who could be set to fight off interest from the likes of Swansea City and Dutch giants Ajax to secure his services on a temporary basis during the transfer window.

The 21-year-old winger joined Benfica from FC Twente in 2012.
