Tottenham preparing Gonzalo Castro transfer bid

12 January 2014 - 06:20

Bayer Leverkusen star Gonzalo Castro has been recommended to Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood by director of football Franco Baldini. The German international centre back, currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen, is reportedly seeking a move to a different country.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Castro has been a first team regular with Leverkusen since first breaking into the first team in the 2004-2005 season and since then has worked hard to keep his place in Bayer's first team with an array of excellent performances at the heart of his team's midfield. Versatile and quick, Castro is confident and capable when playing either as a defender or a midfielder. This versatility is what has caught the eye of Spurs' Franco Baldini.<br />

The player will not be available on the cheap though. It is understood that Leverkusen have slapped a price tag of 15 million Euros in an effort to scare away all potential suitors.
