Manchester City are hopeful of landing the services of Brazilian international Dante from Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window.
The Citizens manager Manuel Pellegrini considers the talented centre-back as a top transfer target in January, as he is keen on finding a permanent partner for club captain Vincent Kompany.
Pellegrini is understood to be having doubts over the consistency of the likes of Joleon Lescott, Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis, and this may tempt him into making a transfer offer for 30-year-old Dante in January, as per German newspaper Bild.
However, a deal would be hard to get done with Bayern boss Pep Guardiola keen on keeping hold of his star defender, whose contract expires in June 2016.
Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco are also monitoring Dante.
