Swansea City are hopeful of landing the services of Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams in the winter transfer window.
The Swans went onto register their eight game without a win in the Premier League, following the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at home on Sunday.
Manager Michael Laudrup is expected to strengthen the club's defensive department before the conclusion of the transfer window, in spite of refusing to reveal interest in the talented defender.
According to Wales Online, Laudrup gave his opinion over the transfer speculation, he said : "The club is working on things but I don't know what stage things are at.
"[Rhys Williams] is one more name to add to the rumours. He is someone who can play different positions but I don't think it's much use me talking about players not here because the most important are the ones here."
The 25-year-old Australian international has been at Boro since 2005.
