Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is reportedly closing in on a move to AC Milan during the January transfer window, as per Sky Sport Italia.

  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • The talented Ghanaian international has failed to cement his place in the starting line-up under manager Jose Mourinho this season, with the likes of David Luiz, Ramires and John Obi Mikel prefered ahead of him for the defensive midfield role.

The report claims that Essien's agent is in talks with the Serie A giants, who are keen on strengthening their midfield setup following a disastrous start to their Serie A campaign.

Essien has been with the West London outfit since 2005.
