Arsenal look set to complete their first signing of the winter transfer window in Spartak Moscow midfielder Kim Kallstrom, should he pass a medical at the North London club.
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on filling the void left due to injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and suspended Mathieu Flamini, by signing the 31-year-old Sweden international on a temporary basis before the 11pm transfer deadline.
According to BBC Sport, Kallstrom will follow the footsteps of former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg and join the North London outfit.
Kallstrom has been capped 108 times by the Swedish national side.
