Stoke City shot-stopper Jack Butland has revealed that he is keen on making a temporary switch from the club into the Championship in order to play regular first-team football.
The 20-year-old England international made four appearances for the Potters last month with Asmir Begovic recovering from a broken finger.
However, Begovic's return has pushed the former Birmingham man back into the bench, and he is eager to play regular football in order to earn a berth in the England national squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer.
"Now that the transfer window is closed a loan move to the Premier League is not on the cards, so I'll either see what happens at Stoke or assess my options in the Championship," Butland said. "If I'm not playing there is no way I can be chosen for any squad. I need to be playing in order to give myself a chance of going [to Brazil]."
Butland has made a solitary appearance for the England senior side.
