Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be readying a surprise move for Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks in the summer.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and could be set for a Premier League move with Spurs interested in his services.



According to SportsDirect News, manager Tim Sherwood is keen on signing Gilks for the next season, with veteran goalie Brad Friedel's contract set to expire at White Hart Lane.



Reports elsewhere suggest that Gilks is considered as a potential replacement for current number one Hugo Lloris, who is keen on leaving the North London outfit in the summer, should they fail to qualify for the Champions League this campaign.



French champions Paris Saint-Germain are understood to be monitoring Hugo Lloris.
