Glenn Hoddle not interested in Swansea City job

08 February 2014 - 08:42

Glenn Hoddle has ruled himself out of the race for the managerial vacancy at Swansea City, according to talkSPORT.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Michael Laudrup was sacked by the Swans earlier this week, following a string of poor results which saw the Welsh outfit win just one of their last ten Premier League games.

Veteran defender Garry Monk was handed the managerial role but there are doubts as to whether the club would trust him to take control beyond the current season.

Former England manager Glenn Hoddle, who was linked with the job this week, insisted that he is not ready for a return to football management.

"Swansea are a smashing football team and they play some beautiful football but, no, that contact hasn't been there," he said. "It is just a lot of speculation.

"It's flattering to be connected with the job. It's got to be right for me at this moment and, at this moment in time, I don't think it is."

The 56-year-old last managed in the top flight with Tottenham Hotspur in 2003.
