Martinez to stay at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has come out and quashed rumours of midfielder moving to Real Madrid. The 25 year old arrived in Germany from Athletic Bilbao in a record Bundesliga deal in the summer of 2012.

  • Injuries and new arrivals have meant that the Spain international has only been able to make seven league appearances for the club so far this season.



    However this is what Guardiola said in his press conference about the player,



    "As long as I am Bayern coach, Javi Martinez will stay here,"



    Since arriving at the club in 2012 Martinez has gone on to win five trophies with South German club.
