Liverpool are apparently considered frontrunners to secure the services of Tottenham's Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen during the summer transfer window.
The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on bolstering the club's back four in the summer, with the possibility of playing in the Champions League on the horizon next term.
According to the Sunday Mail, Vertonghen is likely to leave the North London outfit should they fail to qualify to make it in the top four this season, and this could tempt Liverpool into making a bid for his signature come the summer transfer window.
Vertonghen joined Spurs from Eredivisie giants Ajax in the summer of 2012.
