Manchester United join race for Arsenal target

17 March 2014 - 12:06

Manchester United are reportedly set to battle it out with Arsenal for the services of Schalke midfield sensation Julian Draxler in the summer.

  • Chelsea star to miss FA Cup final with hamstring injury
  • Chelsea to move for Bendegúz Kovács?

  • The Daily Star claims that the Red Devils boss David Moyes had sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action during the Bundesliga outfit's 2-1 win at Augsburg on Friday.

Draxler has been strongly associated with the summer switch away from the German club, and is likely to attract interest from many top clubs in Europe, including United's league rivals Arsenal, who failed with a bid for his signature in January.

Draxler's current deal with Schalke 04 expires in June 2018.
