Manchester United star Robin van Persie sidelined for four to six weeks

22 March 2014 - 04:46

Manchester United's season has been dealt with yet another blow as star striker Robin Van Persie looks set to be sidelined for atleast a month following his knee injury against Olympiakos in the Champions League in midweek.

  • Man Utd handed major injury boost for Liverpool game
  • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
  • The Dutch international was instrumental in leading the Red Devils to the Quarter-finals of the Champions League as his hat-trick sealed a 3-2 aggregate win over Greek side Olympiakos.

However, Moyes had revealed that the former Arsenal man had been stretched off in the latter stages of the game as he had suffered a sprained ankle, which would keep him out of action for Saturday's clash against West Ham United.

Latest reports have confirmed that Van Persie is unlikely to return to action before the end of April and his absence could well hurt the Red Devils' chances of getting through further in the Champions League following their draw against European champions Bayern Munich.
