Manchester City are reportedly readying a summer transfer offer for Tottenham's Belgian international Jan Vertonghen, according to Goal.com
The talented defender has recently rebuffed a new deal at Spurs, and stated of his intention of making a summer exit from the club, should they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Goal.com claims that the Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen on signing a top-class centre-back to accompany Vincent Kompany in defence and considers Vertonghen as one of the main targets this summer.
The 26-year-old joined the North London outfit from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2012.
