Arsenal have reportedly joined local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Chelsea's Belgian international Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.
The talented forward who is currently on a season-long loan deal at Everton is unlikely to earn a first-team spot at Chelsea next season, with manager Jose Mourinho not convinced by his abilities to play under his tactical setup.
According to The Mirror, that the Gunners could join Spurs in a bidding war with the 20-year-old, who could be sold for a fee of around £40m.
However, it is understood that Mourinho is hesitant to sell the former Anderlecht man to either of the club's London rivals, but the fee from his sale could help the Blues land the services of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
