Chelsea have made a bid for Atletico Madrid left back Filipe Luis. Whilst Atleti are hoping to keep as many of their title winning squad together for next season, the Brazilian full back is expected to move to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Ashley Cole.

  • The Brazilian full back, who has spent four years playing for Atletico, has just two years remaining on his current deal and is looking for a move to another country to continue his career.

Jose Mourinho has been monitoring Luis for some time and is now readying a reported 18 million Euros bid for the 28-year-old.

Filipe Luis' agent confirmed the interest of Chelsea when speaking to reporters: "The interest [from Chelsea] is there, but Atletico do not want to sell," Garcia Quilon said. "It has been decided to keep most of the group together for next season. We will see what happens with different players, but the intention is not to sell anyone."
