FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala is reportedly keen on joining Manchester United ahead of local rivals Manchester City, according to The Guardian.
The talented centre-back has been constantly linked with a switch to the Citizens in recent weeks, following the club's failure to secure his services on transfer deadline day.
However, the Guardian now claims that City's arch rivals United are unaware of the player's interest, with newly appointed manager Louis Van Gaal looking for much more experienced head in Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels.
