Manchester United have believed to have made a last-ditch attempt to land the signature of Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas ahead of their league rivals Chelsea.
The Spain is widely tipped to leave the Catalan giants in the summer, with Chelsea considered front-runners to secure his services.
However, with a deal yet to be agreed with Chelsea, reports have emerged that former club Arsenal and Manchester United have joined the race for the talented playmaker.
United are understood to have made a last-minute bid with a lucrative wage structure as manager Louis van Gaal aims to strengthen the club's fragile midfield setup.
Fabregas joined Barcelona from Arsenal in the summer of 2011.
