The Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is understood to be a huge fan of the Chilean international, and has asked the club's hierachy to make all efforts to seal a deal for the talented midfielder.

The Star claims that the Turin outfit have rejected an enquiry over the player's sale from the Mancunian giants, but United are confident of testing their resolve with a £30m bid.
