Manchester United have been reportedly told to pay the £37 million buy-out clause for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
Chelsea too are reportedly interested in the talented midfielder and it will be left to United management's decision as to whether they are ready to spend that much amount for Carvalho.
Van Gaal is impressed with the midfielder and even though he is relatively inexperienced, he might be ready to buy the Portugese. Sporting Lisbon are keen to start negotiations for the player at the buy-out clause and nothing less than that.
Red Devils have also been linked with bids for Juventus' Arturo Vidal and Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos and it will be interesting to see if United will shell the hefty sum for Carvalho or drop out early in the race.
