Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a summer move for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, according to The People.

Skrtel, 29, is keen on a switch away from the Reds this summer, after the club's hierachy refused to offer him a pay-rise from his current salary of around £60,000-a-week.

The People claims that the Istanbul-based club are set to have negotiations over a possible transfer fee with the Reds for the player's signature.

It is understood that manager Brendan Rodgers would be reluctant to release the Slovakian international, following his excellent display for the club last season, as they ended up runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League.
