Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho sent his head scout Piet de Visser to monitor Chilean international midfielder Charles Aranguiz at the World Cup and the Blues are now readying a transfer offer for the 25-year-old.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao

  • Impressive performances in Brazil - which including both an assist and a goal for the midfielder - have impressed the Chelsea side. Currently playing for Brazilian side Internacional, Aranguiz has been valued at around $10 million. The Blues are looking to bring in midfield competition in the defensive department for the likes of John Obi Mikel and Cesc Fabregas.

The powerful midfielder has only recently joined Internacional from Udinese and had two successful seasons in his homeland for Universidad de Chile, scoring 20 goals in 95 games. Prior to that Aranguiz also had spells at Colo Colo and Quilmes.
