  • The De Kuip side valued Pelle at 15 million euros whereas Southampton value the player at considerably less than that, with their initial offer of 8 million euros having been quickly rejected by the Dutch club.

Southampton coach Ronald Koeman had hoped to sign Pelle as a long term replacement for Rickie Lambert, who moved to Liverpool earlier in the summer.

Italian club Roma are now believed to be pushing for a transfer for Pelle and are new favourites to sign the striker.
