Arsenal CEO Gazidis revels in Alexis Sanchez deal completion

Arsenal's chief executive Ivan Gazidis is delighted to have wrapped up a switch to sign Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. The Chile international completed a 42 million Euro transfer to the Emirates from the Nou Camp.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Galatasaray, Salah starts

  • Arsenal have been slammed for their lack of activity on the transfer market in recent years, but having signed Mesut Ozil last summer to join this week's acquisition of Alexis Sanchez, the Gunners are hoping to catch the leading pack of the Premier League this season.

"It is fantastic, that’s what this is all about – making sure the club progresses and that we make our fans happy and proud”, said Gazidis.

"It is a brilliant feeling when we are bringing players in and winning trophies.

"We have been really clear, we will only bring in players who can really add to the squad and we do think he is world class. He is a great signing for us.

"It is a great step, and takes us one step closer to where we want to be."
