Hummels to Man Utd?

17 July 2014 - 15:11

Red Devils' new manager Louis van Gaal has arrived at the club following the completion of the World Cup and is believed to be keen on adding a central defender.

  • Chelsea want Spanish manager as next boss
  • Juventus want to sign Liverpool star

  • After the arrival of Matthias Ginter to Signal Iduna Park, manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly agreed to let go of German defender Mats Hummels.

Hummels, whose price in the transfer market is reportedly £20 million, has been constantly linked with Premier League giants Manchester United, and Dortmund's manager Jurgen Klopp's resolute stance on keeping hold of Hummels may have softened now that they have secured an adequate long-term replacement in Ginter.

Van Gaal has also been reportedly eyeing a move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane but Hummels appears to be Van Gaal's number one defensive target.

La Liga giants Barcelona are also reportedly targeting the player.
