The talented Spaniard joined Los Blancos from Malaga last summer, and was fundamental to the team's success in the early stages of last season. However, he lost a regular role in the starting line-up due to the excellent form of winger Angel Di Maria.

According to Goal.com, the La Liga giants are closing in on the signing of James Rodriguez from Monaco, and this could pave the way for Liverpool to secure the services of Isco this summer.

It is understood that the Reds could launch a formal bid for the Spain international in the next few days.
