Atletico Madrid open talks for Fernando Torres

21 July 2014 - 08:32

Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Chelsea in a move to sign Fernando Torres. The former Liverpool man grew up playing for Atletico and looks set for a return to his homeland.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • It is understood that Chelsea have agreed to part company with Torres and that Atletico's initial bid of 10 million euros has been accepted already. The Blues have signed Diego Costa as a long term replacement for Torres, who has struggled to recapture the form that made him one of Europe's most feared strikers at Anfield. Chelsea are hopeful that a deal will be agreed in time for the start of August, when Jose Mourinho is planning to have finalised his squad for the 2014-15 season.
