Iago Aspas completes Sevilla move

Aspas moves to Sevilla

21 July 2014 - 13:24

La Liga club Sevilla have officially completed the signing of Liverpool forward Iago Aspas on a season-long loan.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • The Spanish striker passed a medical on Friday after the two clubs agreed a deal - which includes the option to buy permanently - earlier in the week and the paperwork has now been finalised.

Aspas, 26, moved to Anfield from Celta Vigo last summer but had a disappointing season and made just 15 appearances, the majority as a substitute, and scored one goal.

Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge were given first-team chances while Aspas frequently warmed the bench.

With his arrival at Sevilla, the Spanish striker will get regular first team action which could benefit Liverpool if they call him back.

Liverpool have sold their ex-star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona already at a record price so far this summer.
