The Gunners boss has been on the look out for top performers in the recently concluded World Cup in Brazil. Having already signed the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy this summer, the Gunners are now closing in on the signature of Colombian shot-stopper David Ospina.

Latest reports reveal that the North London club had crunch talks with Ligue 1 outfit Nice over the player's transfer, and have come to an agreement over a £3m deal for the 25-year-old.

It is understood that Wenger wanted to sign a top-class goalkeeper to provide sufficient competition to first choice Wojciech Szczesny, who has lacked composure in the big games.

Ospina has agreed to a four-year deal and will undergo a medical this week, ahead of his potential switch to the Emirates.
