Chelsea to move for Remy

Chelsea eye move for French star as Drogba cover

11 August 2014 - 23:42

Chelsea have apparently made an enquiry with Queens Park Rangers over the availability of French international Loic Remy, following an injury to veteran striker Didier Drogba in pre-season.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Blues boss Jose Mourinho had earlier claimed that the club were in good position this summer and will not spend anymore in the transfer market.

However, summer signing Drogba suffered an ankle injury during the club's 2-1 win over Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros on Sunday, and is set to be ruled out for a prolonged period. According to Goal.com, the Blues have made an approach for Remy, who is keen on a switch to a top Premier League club this season.

Liverpool failed to seal a deal for the 27-year-old following concerns over the player's medical.
