Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is apparently keen on making a summer offer for Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin, The Star reports.
The Red Devils were considered favourites to land the services of Arturo Vidal from Juventus this summer, with reports claiming that the player had agreed on personal terms with the club.
However, this does not seem to be the case, as both clubs have stalled on talks over the prospective deal. According to The Star, the Mancunian giants are ready to opt for an alternative in Inter midfielder Guarin, who is also said to have attracted interest from league rivals Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.
United endured a 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City in their opening Premier League game on Saturday.
