Valencia were this afternoon linked with a move for Spanish forward Alvaro Negredo. The striker could be allowed to leave Man City after being told he is fourth choice striker at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite being told by manager Manuel Pellegrini that he is still an important member of his squad for the coming season, Negredo is said to be pining for a return to his home country.
Valencia are stepping up their interest in the former Sevilla forward and the 29-year-old has declared that he is ready to return home.
It is understood that Man City will listen to any offers in the region of around 18 million euros for Negredo.
