Newcastle manager: our new players are trying too hard

24 August 2014 - 07:31

After Newcastle's 0-0 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend, Newcastle coach Alan Pardew told reporters that his new signings are trying too hard to impress.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star

  • The likes of Remy Cabella and Siem De Jong failed to impress during the Premier League game and manager Pardew thinks that his new players need more time to adjust to the rigours of English football.

"Obviously the last third today was not so good," said Pardew.

"I think a lot of the new offensive players are trying so hard and sometimes that isn't the way to score goals."

The Toon Army take on Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game on August 30th and Pardew will be hoping for more from his attacking players in that game.
