Kranjcar vs Carson again

Kranjcar vs Carson again

08 December 2007 - 10:53

Niko Kranjcar will be relishing the visit to Villa Park as Portsmouth take on Aston Villa. Scott Carson, the England keeper that Kranjcar beat at Wembley, will be in goal, and Kranjcar believes that Carson will have forgotten about the error that ultimately led to England's qualification demise.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "I don't think he will focus on me," Kranjcar said. "He is an international goalkeeper now and I think he will go on and put that behind him."

"Villa will be a tough game," Kranjcar said. "We are both on the same number of points. Their front three - Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ashley Young and John Carew - will be dangerous, and they have quality in midfield as well."

Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill confirmed no permanent deal had been struck for the keeper yet: "Is the Scott Carson deal going through? He is here for the season and we have heard nothing from Liverpool at all."
