Newcastle United to loan out Hatem Ben Arfa

Hatem Ben Arfa has been linked with a shock loan move to Birmingham City. The French winger has been told he is surplus to requirements at St James' Park.

Ben Arfa, who has had a high profile falling out with manager Alan Pardew and the coaching team at Newcastle, has been constantly linked with a return to his homeland of France.

However, it is understood that no French club is willing to match the winger's wages and thus a loan deal elsewhere in England is favoured.

Birmingham City have contacted Newcastle regarding a move for Ben Arfa and are confident that a deal will be agreed before the end of transfer deadline day.
