Neill: Hughes for Man Utd

09 December 2007 - 14:50

Lucas Neill has backed Blackburn boss Mark Hughes to become the successor for Alex Ferguson in charge at Man Utd. The West Ham defender believes that leaving Blackburn under Hughes was a hard thing to do - and that Hughes deserves the job.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Neill said: “The hardest thing was to leave the good set-up at Blackburn.

“I’m not surprised how well Mark and the lads are doing and I’m sure that he’s going to go on and be very successful.

“No disrespect to Rovers but Mark Hughes has the potential to coach Manchester United. There’s no end to what he could do because he gets his message across so well.”
