The Real Madrid forward has recently expressed his desire to return to his former club next season. According to The Mail, the Portuguese international has requested an eye-catching £24m-a-year in wages, in order to convince him into leaving the Bernabeu next summer.

Club-captain Wayne Rooney is the highest earner on a weekly salary of £300,000, and this shows that the Mancunian giants could face a tough task to match the wage structure demanded by Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has scored 256 goals in 252 games for Los Blancos so far.
