Blackburn have told Zurab Khizanishvili that they wish to keep him at the club. The defender still has 18 months left on his deal, but Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for the Georgian.
"We talked to Zurab and obviously he hasn't had as much football this year as he would have liked, so he was a little bit concerned about that," Hughes told the club's official website.
"But I think we reassured him that we view his future here and he's a player that I've got a lot of time for. I think he's got qualities that we'll need and we'll use.
"We've only just had preliminary talks with Zurab and his advisers, but I would like to think that he would be here for some time in the future."
