Manchester United are reportedly mulling over a transfer offer for Welsh international Gareth Bale next summer.

The talented winger joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013, and has since played an influential part in the club's excellent run to Champions League glory.

According to The Star, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is unhappy with the Welshman's ability to contribute defensively, and this could lead to his departure come next summer.

In addition to this, United are believed to be open to the prospect of tempting the former Spurs man into a return to the English top tier.
