Mourinho: could have been PSG's manager

PSG tried to appoint Jose Mourinho twice

12 October 2014 - 15:01

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has sensationally revealed that Paris St Germain tried to appoint him not once, but twice. The former Real Madrid manager was approached by AC Milan's former director of football, Leonardo.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Since then, Mourinho has returned to Chelsea for a second stint and his club currently sits top of the Premier League.

PSG have appointed Laurent Blanc who helped them win the Ligue 1 title last season. But Mourinho has now revealed that he may have been the club's first choice instead.

"I was the first choice of Leonardo. I said no to PSG twice," Mourinho quipped.

"Paris can win the Champions League, it would be fantastic to have a Chelsea-PSG in the final. Paris is in good hands, Laurent Blanc is a good manager."
