Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has identified AC Milan's Ignazio Abate as a potential replacement for outbound defender Glen Johnson.
England international Glen Johnson is believed to be considering a switch away from Anfield in the New Year, having failed to sign a contract extension.
According to The Mirror, Rodgers could make a move for Abate, who is in his final year of his contract with AC Milan.
The report adds that the Merseysiders could secure the services of Abate during the winter transfer window, with the Rossoneri keen on selling off the defender at a bargain price.
