Arsenal boss keen on signing Krychowiak

29 October 2014 - 05:51

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a swoop for Sevilla holding midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, should the club fail in their pursuit to land Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho in the January transfer window.

  • Juventus and Napoli enter race for Chelsea winger
  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The Gunners have lacked a defensive midfielder of genuine pedigree since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona two years ago.

According to The Sun, Wenger is unhappy with the performances of club-captain Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini in the holding role, and will consider a replacement for either of them in the New Year.

The report adds that the Frenchman is keen on securing the services of Polish international Grzegorz Krychowiak in the next transfer window in order to solve the crisis.

Krychowiak, 24, joined the Europa League champions from Ligue 1 side Stade Reims in the summer.
