Rafa backs Torres for derby

Rafa backs Torres for derby

14 December 2007 - 14:54

Rafa Benitez does not feel Fernando Torres will be overawed ahead of Liverpool's battle with Man Utd at the weekend. The Premiership giants go head to head with both teams very confident, and Torres already has 12 goals to his name.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Torres has the experience of big game derbies in his home land and will be looking forward to Liverpool's battle with Man Utd at the weekend.

Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I think in Spain he has experience playing with Atletico against Real Madrid. This is really difficult and the supporters are really good for both teams. It is more or less similar to this game.

"He can expect it to be difficult, physical and tough because they have experienced players. It will be similar to the Chelsea game but with even more rivalry between the two teams."
