Cole charged for gesture

Cole charged for gesture

19 December 2007 - 09:12

Chelsea's defender Ashley Cole could be set for an FA charge after the England left back directed an offensive V gesture to the Arnsela fans after the heated London derby at the Emirates.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • Ashley came in for a barrage of abuse from Gunners supporters throughout the whole game, labelled "Judas" throughout from angry fans still unhappy with his move across London.

FA chiefs are now set to study video evidence of the incident where the full-back made the gesture towards a section of Arsenal supporters during the heated London derby.

Avram Grant however praised Cole: "In the beginning of the game, they challenged him, made a lot of fouls on him but he is a big boy and was okay with it," said Grant.

"This was not a problem. He played good. I think it gave him more motivation."
