Liverpool will reportedly fight it out with Manchester United for the services of Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic next summer.
The Reds are likely to boost their squad at the end of the season, with the midfield being the main focus for strengthening.
According to The Star, manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to have flown to Italy after the club's 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek to hold early talks with Pjanic's representatives regarding the possible move.
The Bosnian international has notched up four goals in 29 games for Roma this season.
