Manchester United wanted to sign midfielder Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Phil Neville.
The talented midfielder provided an assist to Edinson Cavani as Les Parisiens earned a 1-1 home draw against Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Speaking after the crunch Champions League encounter, the former United coach confessed that the Mancunian giants were keen on signing the French midfielder last season.
“We wanted to sign him. We were really interested,” Neville revealed to BBC Sport.
Matuidi has scored 11 goals in 125 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Parisiens.
