Axel Witsel hints at Juventus switch

24 February 2015 - 23:01

Belgian international Axel Witsel has admitted that he could leave Zenit St Petersburg for Juventus at the end of the season, according to a report.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Russian giants in recent years, and is tipped to be a successor to Paul Pogba who is likely to exit Juventus for a return to the Premier League next season.

"Joining Juventus next summer? We'll have to wait until the summer transfer market, then we'll see. My youth idol was Zinedine Zidane, and I admire Andrea Pirlo a lot - he's one of the best players in the world," Witsel told Voetbalkrant.com

Witsel has scored 11 goals in 65 appearances for Zenit so far.
